Elk Point

On the east shore of Lake Tahoe, nestled between Round Hill Pines and Nevada Beaches, is the quiet community of Elk Point Country Club. This gated community was started in 1921 when members of Reno Elks Club bought 25 acres for $5000. It was divided into 114 lots and was called Nevada Elks Lodge Tahoe Association. In 1925, as houses were being built, the name was changed to Elk Point Country Club when it received its official designation as a non-profit.
Today there are 91 homes. The age of the homes varies, from 100 years to brand new and from tiny old cabins to large modern homes. The moment you enter the community you are taken back to a time when Tahoe was a quieter and slower pace. The private beach is rarely crowded. The highway sounds are blocked by Round Hill which affords wonderful views for anyone who hikes it.  There is a roped swimming area and boat marina. Hiking and biking trails can be accessed directly from the community. This idyllic community is like none other.
